Animation / Experimental Shorts #1 (Adult Content)

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This journey begins with rhythmic allusions, tugging at the narrative, overlapping poems, then skip into some adult themes with humor, drama and intrigue.  Your brain will get a quick colorful process scrub before the last piece of this experiment, a 30-minute portrait of American counterculture, a hybrid non-narrative documentary/experimental art film that questions parameters of all kinds: decency, fiction, culture, family, exploitation.  You will talk about it.

  • Disco Temple (dir. Partrick T. Lo / 7 min)
A quiet woman meets her muses as reality becomes hazy and distored.
  • Double Feature (dir. Laura Jean Hocking & Ben Siler / 4 min / Hometowner)
Two filmmakers take the same footage and make two shorts from it.
  • The Return (dir. Ada Athorp & Adrian Frost / 10 min)
Two poems combined by two voices, distorted imagery and haunting music, become more than the sum, transformed by interaction into a complete story of love, loss and the remains.
  • Twit Plippies (dir. Sam McDavid / 8 min)
A worm's plans for a busy day of staring face-down are interupted by an unwelcome guest.
  • Camchat (dir. Blake Pruitt / 11 min)
An experimental look at online sexual encounters and relationships through one young man's interactions.
  • Acetate Diary (dir. Russell Sheaffer / 4 min)
After receiving a difficult medical diagnosis, experimental filmmaker Russell Sheaffer decided to use a roll of 16mm film as a written diary.
  • Buffalo Juggalos (dir. Scott Cummings / 30 min)
An experimental exploration and celebration of the Juggalo subculture in Buffalo, New York.
